knock, knock....

we kept riley and hadleigh a couple of weekends ago.  they are both at such fun ages and kept us laughing all weekend.  i kept thinking, time please freeze...they are so fun and sweet right now.

it worked out that bryan and i could each pick one of them up friday afternoon, and they came to our house for a weekend of fun! :)

also, it was the weekend of the knock-knock joke!  riley started it and hadleigh joined in quickly.  as B said, "monkey see, monkey do"  i had to write them down now so if i need a laugh, i can come back and read them.  keep in mind, riley's little sister's name is lena beth.

Riley: "Knock, knock!"
Us: "Who's there?!"
Riley: "Lena!"
Us: "Lena who?!?"
Riley:  "Lena a little closer and I'll tell ya!"

I was laughing so hard at this one...

Riley: "Knock, knock!"
Us: "Who's there?!"
Riley: "Riley!"
Us: "Riley who?"
Riley: "Riley, don't ya think I'm pretty smiley!"

You're killing me.

So then Hadleigh joined and her's was 100% original...
Had: "knock, knock!"
Us: "who's there?!"
Had: "Hadleigh June L ove"
Us: "Hadleigh J une L ove who?
Had: "Hadleigh June L ove Smith"

At this point, I can't breath I am laughing so hard....funny what kids hear and remember.  i do not have a hyphenated last name, but Love just doesn't seem to go away and so apparently someone has said my whole long name a few times in front of her.

unfortunately riley loves chuck e cheese, so he requested that friday night.  we had fun, ate bad pizza, and played some games!  that whole place majorly grosses me out, and i work with kids, who sneeze and/or cough into my face (and sometimes my mouth!) daily.  and really, the kids at work don't bother me, i think b/c i know and love 'em.  but the cheese place-yuck!

saturday we had a lazy morning and then headed to gentry.  we did the drive through zoo, a picnic, and the petting zoo.  we had a great time, and the weather was really nice!  they weren't  super thrilled in the car, and we heard a few "when will we be back to the big red barn so we can get out?!"  they did like unbuckling in the backseat.

they both slept beside our bed on a mattress.  they did pretty well on it together, and slept really hard both nights.  pure exhaustion does the trick. :)

here's our cartoon watching time in pajamas!

i am thinking at home they might not get chocolate milk every meal.  but at our house they did! :)

we had TCBY and shogun's and lots of snacks! :)

hadleigh kept telling us "do NOT roll the windows down" when the animals would get close to the car. it was funny.

3 of us ate lunch and one little girl with curly hair ate like two cheese puffs and one pepperoni for lunch.  it's hard to eat with all the excitement.

they liked the baby goats.  and really Riley liked most of the animals.  they scared hadleigh.

bubbles and side walk chalk in the driveway!

this was an attempt for a pic of me and the two little ones, but they were getting tired, and had wasn't into pictures.  you can kinda see her hiding behind my legs.

we're happier after eating dinner and having some yogurt.

sweet boy!

i love them both.

the boys!

easter egg hunt!!

they loved it!

We are so thankful for them, and that their parents let them come for whole weekends at a time! :)  They are both so sweet and we love 'em a whole bunch.

Amy, I'm glad you're my friend, but after reading this, I'm kinda wishing you were my aunt : )
